3 Ways to Create a Process Diagram – Help Center | Teachme Process

The basic workflow for creating a process diagram is to have AI generate a draft, then refine it manually to match reality. There is no need to draw everything from scratch.

Order of steps

Create a draft by interacting with AI…Describe the target workflow and have the AI Agent generate a process diagram through conversation.
Instruct AI to make revisions…Tell it where the diagram differs from your actual operations and have it make corrections. You can also consult it with questions like "Are there any nodes we should consider adding?" or "Are there any sections that should be broken out into a separate process diagram as a detailed process?"
Refine it yourself…Add any missing nodes and fine-tune the wording.
Enrich node information…Add Assignment labels, Duration, and Task Type, and link Teachme Biz Manuals to the relevant nodes.
Configure sharing settings and test export…Set view and edit permissions, and export as an image or CSV if needed.

For step 3, the key is to switch views to work in the format that makes editing easiest. Use the flow view to adjust the flow, the Swimlane view to review assignments, and the node list to fill in any missing information.

3 ways to create a draft

1. Create through AI conversation

Upon request, the AI confirms the necessary information and generates the process automatically while checking in with you along the way. Instructions can be given by keyboard input, voice input, or by attaching images or PDFs.

2. Import existing materials

Upload an existing workflow diagram or task list as a PDF or image, and the AI will organize it into a process diagram. This is the fastest method for migrating from paper or Excel.

You can also have a process diagram created by referencing a Teachme Biz Manual. In that case, the Manual will be linked at the same time.

3. Create manually

Build the diagram by connecting nodes by hand. You can add and connect the next step with a single click using the "+" on an unconnected node or the "+" at the midpoint of an edge. Use Auto layout to arrange the placement.

Don't cram too much into one diagram

Fitting all branching patterns into a single diagram makes it hard to read. For sections that are better separated, set a detailed process on the Execution Node to break it out into a separate process diagram.
